Low Precipitations Hindered Water Supply In Dilijan

YEREVAN (Hayastani Hanrapetutyun daily), 01/27/99 — Low precipitations resulted in decrease of surface water sources in Dilijan by 2/3, aggravating water supply in the city. The hours of water supply are limited to its availability. Elderly citizens say, they do not remember of times, when water would become so “thin”. Depending on geographic location, water supply could vary from 12 to 2 hours, but in years with little snow, like this year, it could be limited to 30 minutes in most unfavorable places. Even the Aghstel river, which becomes very powerful in spring, now became a small stream.
