YEREVAN (Yerkir daily), 01/28/99 — “This body was created illegitimately and naturally, its self-protection instinct would work”, said Deputy Chairman of Constitutional Right Union Hayk Babukhanian, commenting on Parliament’s refusal to allow the arrest of Chairman of ANM board and former Interior Minister Vano Siradeghian.
“The Parliament again protects people, against who criminal charges are made”, Central Committee of the Communist Party of Armenia said on January 26. The statement says that “ANM leaders of past and present have finally revealed their true face, and that National Assembly has shown that it has no moral right to speak on behalf of nation and the country”.
