Armenian Beauty Wins A Contest Among Representatives Of 12 CIS Countries
YEREVAN (Azg, Respublica Armenia dailies), 01/30/99 — Gohar Haroutiunian, representing Armenia, has won a beauty contest in Moscow, held among representatives of 12 countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, by three from each country.
Nobody would believe that an Armenian would win the context, says Azg, yet when Haroutiunian, among with 5 other participants, passed to the final stage of the competition, Armenians in the hall were shouting “Well done, Gohar”.
After the contest, representatives of CIS states were congratulating the Armenian delegation. The Ambassador of Azerbaijan Ramiz Rizayev congratulated presidential spokesperson Hasmik Petrosian and Advisor of the Armenian Embassy in Moscow Vardan Toghanian.
As a winner, Haroutiunian will receive a $25,000 grant and a certificate, allowing her to study in any university of the world.
